Updates

My last name is Spurlock. And I suck at using it. I still answer the phone at work ENS Wissler. I still write Wissler on my drink cups! I signed Wissler on my new SS card for Samantha J Spurlock! I felt like a bonehead.

We get promoted May23 to Ltjg! Can you believe that Anna. We have been in the Navy for 2 freaking years!!! Half way to done.

I'm deploying on the Iwo Jima for a humanitarian mission to South America. From July 14 through November. I volunteered. I figured 4 months on a boat is better than 8 months in the desert. I only want 1 child. So I can't really rely on being pregnant the rest of the time. I'll get it over with now and spare myself the torment later. One of the other ENS from my ward is going also....so I wont be alone.

Courtney is coming to live with us. The whole schizophrenic-living-at-home-with-dad thing isn't working.

Over it.

So the insane Samantha has passed. I need a new list. Listing helps me focus.

54 Guests. [Just when I'd lost faith in everyone.]

Favours.

Nathan shoes.

Cleaners.

Borrowed/Blue.

Bouquets.

Caterer list.

Security list. Which is tricky becuase its due Monday. So I need to put everyone I think may last minute RSVP. Mostly work people. I guess they need 10 days to make sure you aren't terrrorists.

Jim is the only person left to pay.

I need to figure out what to do rehersal night. We might do nothing. Also, Paul and I were thinking of doing something after the reception since it ends so early. Maybe going out that night. So we can spend more time with people we never see.

I think its mostly just logistical stuff. I need someone to put out favours and the cake topper. I need to buy a cake topper!!!! Heh! I need somone to decorate my children. I need someone to memorize the Fort Myer area so my guests have someone to call if they get lost. [I hope most people have a GPS. Its a little confusing near the city. I was lost for 2 hours once when I forgot Jill.] I'm sure I need a lot of things that I just haven't realized yet.

I'm having some insane anxiety. It's not anything about the wedding or getting married. Its specifically about the guest count. I think I've recieved as many rejected RSVP's as I have accepted. I'm 22 days away from my wedding. I have 44 confirmed guests. Which basically just translates into me grossly overpaying. Even people who have RSVP'd have then later told me they can't come. WTF people! Maybe I should have been nicer over my lifetime and more people would have come. Any ideas on last minute invites? Can you even invite people three weeks away? $5990. For 44 people.

BTW-I registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Are you still in Rhode Island?

flowers

Flowers are done. I ordered individual flowers to make my own bouquet. They came today. I put it together in a vase and they look fabulous. Now I'll just have to head to micheals to find something to hold them together.

Paul ordered cuff links today.

I also emailed Jim the photographer to let him know we will hire him. Just waiting for him to answer me. 3 hours for $750. So he wont be there for the entire reception.

We found ties!

No shoes.

I found something new to add to the list! I need a bustle sewn in my dress.

53

I'm officially on a wedding diet/exercise plan. I found some shapewear that makes me skinny. So I put the whole get up on.....and now there is no fat roll.....but the dress bunches. My hips have gotten too big!!!!!! The dress doesn't sit on my shoulders and fall....it sits on my hips and stands. So it bunches in the back and falls off my shoulders! I lost weight last year, and packed it back on when Paul and the kids moved in. I weighed 148 and a point last year, so I know I can do it. I'm at like a hot 160 right now. So I exercised last night, and had oatmeal for breakfast!!! I'm off to a strong start!

Today, we go to men's warehouse because Paul's pants came in. He has to try them on.

I found a perfectly matched tie at Macy's. There was only one!! I wrote everything down to buy it online. It was as if it never excited. I can't find it anywhere. So today....I will start again with the tie hunt!!!

Shoes! That is my other goal for today.

Flowers

The silk flowers came today. Number 5 looked great; except the leaves and stems. The flowers looked real, even felt real. The greenery; not so much. I'm going to try and trim the leaves and ribbon wrap the stems. Just to see how it looks. The colors are great and the price was even better so I feel like it might be worth the effort.

But I might go with the hydrangeas. They are little bunches of light/dark pink hydrangeas. It looks really good. I bought them to see how they would look for Alex and was pleasantly surprised by them.

Unfortuneately, the tulips for me got mangled. But I don't think I would have been impressed even if they had fared better shipping. I'll probably get real flowers. Maybe I'll toss those.

Or a shoulder length viel?

I might get this one. I want to wear my hair mostly down. I wish I had a better imagination. I just can't picture things on myself.

Veil or no veil??

I can't decide what I want to do with my hair. I like the short veils/big flowers.

Thats the cake. The flowers on the side will be pink. And the large flower on top, won't be there. We will put fresh flowers or a topper, I haven't decided yet.

My wedding package includes the flowers for the reception. But I was thinking about getting silk flower bouquets. Any thoughts?

These are my favorite ones so far.

2.
32 cream white tulips make up this beautiful spring hand-tied bouquet. Each tulip measures 2" tall and 1.25" wide. Bouquet is 12" tall, 14" in diameter, and is wrapped with a white satin ribbon.

3. 12" Tall casablanca lily, snowball, tulip, and wild rose bouquet in rubrum and cream. Bouquet is made up of 6 cream wild roses, 3 beauty tulips, 3 green cream snowball clusters, 1 pink rose, and 1 rubrum casablanca lily. Lily measures 8.5" in diameter

4. 12" tall rose and jasmine bouquet in cream. Bouquet measures 8" in diameter and has 6 open roses that measure 3-3.5" in diameter, jasmine accents, and lush green foliage. Bouquet stems are adorned with a satin ribbon bow.

5. 12" Tall gorgeous real touch rose, rose bud, and astrantia bouquet in pink fuchsia with galax leaf accents, 3 open roses measure 3.5" in diameter and 6 rose buds per bouquet. Bouquet measures approximately 8" in diameter and has a moss green ribbon wrapped around the stems
